Membership in the Optimist Club of Des Plaines, IL, is an opportunity to enjoy service and personal growth. The youth of our country are our greatest natural resource. Club membership is one way that adults can help to instill and nurture positive values of optimism in our youth.
My name is Chris Ladner, and, as a former president of our club, I encourage anyone interested in joining us in this worthwhile venture to call me at (847) 827-1444 or to send an email to ladnercj@yahoo.com.
The Optimist Club of Des Plaines, IL, meets the first and third Thursdays of each month and would enjoy having you visit our meetings, so that you can see how we help to make "our optimism come true".
Dues are $60.00 annually, plus a $30.00 application and processing fee. Our fiscal year runs from October 1st to September 30th, and dues are prorated for new members from that date.

Promise Yourself:
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
